Motivational Speaker for Schools

Andy works as a motivational speaker for schools, sharing stories about his time in the army and the lessons he learned along the way. His workshop is delivered in an age-appropriate style that engages children and teaches them about the importance of key mindsets, such as resilience, kindness and accountability.

Andy brings a powerful message: you don’t have to be the loudest or the fastest – but if you believe in yourself, stay adaptable and work hard, you can lead your own life with courage and clarity.

What Andy Speaks About

As a motivational speaker for schools, Andy’s talks follow the SPARK model, helping children develop:

  • Self-Awareness: Andy encourages students to think about who they really are and what their goals for the future are. He teaches them that their past does not define their future.
  • Purpose: Andy helps students connect effort, values and goals.
  • Awareness: Students learn the importance of adapting behaviours and their mindset to different situations. Andy also emphasises the value of empathy and perspective-taking in leadership.
  • Resilience: Using real-world examples from combat zones and sailing races, Andy shows how to remain calm under pressure, learn from failure and keep moving forward with integrity.
  • Kindness: Andy shows the importance of inclusion and empathy as part of a leadership style. He reminds students that strength and compassion go hand in hand.

By drawing on his extensive military and sailing experiences, Andy shows young people how to navigate life’s challenges, seize new opportunities and shape their own futures.

All workshops, like the ones delivered by Andy, are fully funded and are designed for schools with above-average numbers of students eligible for free school meals (FSM). Talks by Andy are intended for children in years 7-13.
