What Coaching with Andy Looks Like

Most leaders and managers are aware of the power leadership coaching has to reduce interference and release potential. In his executive leadership coaching sessions, Andy deals with the conscious mind and helps you find answers to the dilemmas that are facing you and your business. In doing so, he unpacks self-imposed constraints that are currently limiting your performance.

His 1:1 sessions often focus on major life decisions, prioritisation concerns, performance issues and personal dilemmas. His executive leadership coaching sessions help to clear your mind, allowing you to work out what is truly important to you. Within your organisation, these sessions can support a learning culture and improve team performance.

Andy's Credentials and Approach

Andy is a Chartered Management Institute trained Level 7 leadership coach who works with both public and private organisations.

He’s also a former army veteran with over 30 years of military leadership experience. His service saw him conduct operations in Belize, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He finished his distinguished military career in a senior leadership position where he was responsible for over 4,000 people.

Coaching vs Mentoring

When it comes to leadership, coaching and mentoring are different services.

Coaching is far more performance-driven in nature. It’s designed to improve immediate on-the-job performance. It employs techniques like questioning and inquiry to help leaders unlock their full potential, allowing them to achieve personal and professional success.

By contrast, mentoring is development-driven. It doesn’t just look at your current job function and day-to-day performance, it instead takes a more holistic approach to career development. It develops leaders through the sharing of knowledge, skills and experience.

Which is right for you will depend on your goals, the barriers you’re looking to remove and exactly what you’re hoping to achieve.

'Andy's presentation was inspirational and outstanding. It engaged students of all ages, prompting serious thought and reflection while targeting areas that some of our students find challenging, such as resilience. We had students who usually struggle to get through lessons fully involved and loving the entire session.

The feedback from staff was overwhelming - numerous colleagues went out of their way to tell both Andy and myself how much they enjoyed it, with some saying it was the best assembly they'd ever attended. We would have him back in a heartbeat!'
